Pierre Muller

Arbitrator, Conciliator, CEDR Accredited Mediator
Former Judge at the Cantonal Court (Vaud)
For almost 20 years, Pierre Muller has conducted and judged a very large number of cases involving an economic interest. His personal and professional qualities as a judge have been widely acknowledged.
Committed conciliator, he has gained the experience that enables him to bring delicate negotiations to a successful conclusion, even in complex cases. He can also, when needed, take a concrete position on the chances of success of the parties’ claims.
Having measured the flexibility and effectiveness of extrajudicial dispute resolution, Pierre Muller has devoted himself entirely to it since 2017. His objective is to ensure that the parties benefit from the most appropriate and proportionate means of resolving their dispute, taking into account the key parameters of their situation, such as:
The experience acquired in the field of arbitration enables him to act as sole arbitrator or chairman of panels in his areas of expertise, but also to set up "tailor-made" arbitration procedures in consultation with the parties, in particular in the field of construction and inheritance, for example by providing for the rapid intervention of an expert or designing the procedure in such a way that favours the search for an agreement.
As a conciliator or a mediator, he intervenes in order to avoid the parties having to go to court, but also when proceedings are pending, as it is never too late to find a negotiated solution, nor to take a moment to clarify the situation and find ways to a mutually satisfactory solution.
During an "exploratory meeting", he examines and discusses with parties and counsel who are hesitating to resort to extrajudicial dispute resolution (or who are wondering how best to do so) all possible options, in order to help them to make an appropriate and proportionate choice.
In addition to these activities, Pierre Muller also carries out independent investigations within companies and public authorities.
Pierre Muller works in French and English.
